Cambridge Mathematics Direct provides everything needed to plan, teach and assess primary mathematics, in line with the recommendations of the National Numeracy Strategy. The CMD 1 Assess and Review Lesson Plans provide ideas for structuring the Assess and Review days. Two lessons are given for each half term. A suggested order is given; the lesson plans can also be used in any order, to fit in with the school's own scheme of work. The lessons focus on assessing the key objectives in a daily maths lesson context, with oral and mental starters, direct (teacher-led) assessment, and plenary. Additional recorded activities are provided in the accompanying ‘Maths Review Workbook'. The lesson plans bring in the use of probing questions, designed to elicit information about pupils' misconceptions. Follows the National Numeracy Strategy guidelines for the Assess and Review days. Provides the content of all 12 Assess and Review days, in a structured and manageable format. Linked to key objectives, so can be used independently of any maths scheme.
