Connect is a fun, 4-level, multi-skills American English course especially written and designed for young adolescents. Motivation is encouraged through high-interest topics and lively activities. These activities and Theme Projects help students connect their English to the world outside the classroom. Student's Book Each Student's Book contains 8 units divided into 2-page lessons. Each unit is accompanied by full-color photographs and illustrations. Also included are Learning Logs which give students an opportunity to reflect on their progress, and Theme Projects which enable students to use the unit language in a new and meaningful way. Workbook The Workbook provides additional reading and writing reinforcement of the grammar and vocabulary for each lesson. Also featured is a Check Yourself section at the back of the book, enabling students to assess their own performance. The Workbook can be used at home or in class. Teacher's Edition The comprehensive interleaved Teacher's Edition provides step-by-step instructions to present, practice and review the language and skills in each lesson. Also included are audio scripts of all recorded material, suggestions for optional exercises and linguistic, methodological and cultural notes where appropriate. The host of support materials includes a testing program and worksheets for additional practice. Audio program The Class Audio Cassettes and CDs include recordings of the Vocabulary, Language Focus, Listening and Reading exercises. A unique feature of the Connect audio program is the recordings for 'Listen and check your answers' in many of the Language Focus practice activities. This feature reduces teacher talking time and encourages greater student involvement in the process of checking answers. The recordings are in natural, conversational American English. Connect Arcade This interactive website offers students self-study grammar, listening, and vocabulary activities. For every unit, quizzes and games use animation, audio, and/or illustrations to turn English practice into online fun. www.cambridge.org/connectarcade Teacher Support Site NEW This website provides photocopiable extra grammar and reading exercises for each unit. Also provided are unit-by-unit Evaluation Tests and Oral Quizzes.
